The Renters’ Rights Act continues to move closer to implementation, and the Government has now released further detail around a key requirement that all landlords must be aware of — the introduction of a new Information Sheet for tenants. This document is designed to clearly explain how the upcoming legislation will affect existing tenancies, including major changes such as the removal of Section 21 “no-fault” evictions, the transition to periodic tenancies, and updates to rent increases and notice periods. All landlords with tenants in place prior to 1st May 2026 will be required to provide this Information Sheet, with a strict deadline of 31st May 2026 for compliance. The document can be issued electronically or as a hard copy, and failure to provide it could result in financial penalties, so it is important not to overlook this step. For tenancies without a written agreement, landlords will instead need to provide a written statement of terms to bring them in line with the new legislation. At Littlefairs, we will be managing this entire process on behalf of our landlords across all service levels, from Bronze through to Platinum, ensuring every tenant receives the correct documentation in a compliant and timely manner. As the sector continues to evolve, this is another example of how clear communication and proactive management will be key to staying ahead of regulatory change, and as always, we are here to guide our landlords and tenants every step of the way.
